Daylight

At times one could speak about it like a child,
extend it beyond heaven, beyond all skies,
see blessings spread around like a sea
over all that moves, and all that feels,
beyond all thought, living deep in your heart.

One song I hear in the wave and the sea,
one life in billions of mysteries:
One soul thrilled with intense delight
and the sweetness of love’s supermight
is the sentiment of earth, my paradise.

I won’t lower my grateful voice,
won’t speak against you mountains and lakes.
Woven are my dreams into mist and wind,
fly on the wings of the light-bird
high above clouds in the abysmal sky!

It is given to those pure in heart
where daylight spreads through the shadows of war,
dissolving the wicked wish in the mind
which makes man fall off
we know not how to selfishness, disguised in gentle names.

And visions are there the prelude to faith,
one that fails not, knows no despair,
where no heart uneasy loses the road,
where no coward tongue speaks against beauty and love,
where daylight spreads its message of hope.
One song I hear in the wave and the sea,
one life in billions of mysteries:
One soul thrilled with intense delight
and the sweetness of love’s supermight
is the sentiment of earth, my paradise.
