Sent On The Way

One is sent on the way
but the road it is dusty
and faint are the signs
somewhere in the night.

One is sent on the way
with no understanding
of what is the hour,
what is the time.

But my truth is unbroken,
my soul it is strong.
And whatever might be
the pattern of ages,
I’ll always know where I’ve come from.

I came like you from there to here.
I did never imagine how strange it would be.
But now we are here
and have to take chances.
We’ll have to see how long it must be.

Why is it so ugly, why so cold?
Why is it unhappy,
the story of Gold?
The truth is so mighty,
and sweet is the Lord.
But now that I’m here,
I know only my soul.

And my truth is unbroken,
my soul it is strong.
And whatever might be
the face of confusion
there is nothing
to really worry about.

Yet horror is there
and crime and anguish.
I don’t know your answer,
I know only mine.
And what is the value
of one lonely person
in the midst of a crowd,
in the midst of a storm?

But the Truth is unbroken,
The Soul it is strong.
And whatever might be
the misunderstanding,
I’ll always know
how to sing my song.

One is sent on the way
but the road it is dusty
and faint are the signs
somewhere in the night.

One is sent on the way
with no understanding
of what is the hour,
what is the time.
