As The Battle Came To An End

As the battle came to an end
there was one bitter last blow,
one last kill, one last wound,
one last shot, one last bomb,
one last breath of poison.

Soon the ruins will be quiet,
calm the cratered earth
and morning fog will no longer hide
the enemy brother and the weapon he got.
As the battle came to an end
someone was there who thought of God.

And he knew the tears will not
end so soon, nor will pain go.
Battles end but struggle still goes on,
will go on…

I would like to see my home so free
as is my soul’s, my soul’s ecstasy.
Yes, I would like to be.
I would like to be free
as the Master is in His Consciousness.
Free as the Truth and the Answer
to all the battles that can ever be.
Deep within burned this thought.

And I knew with tears of hope
and I saw with vision’s strength
that this pain and battle won’t be
in vain, won’t be in vain…

As the battle came to an end
there was one bitter last blow,
one last kill, one last wound,
one last shot, one last bomb,
one last breath of poison.

Soon the ruins will be quiet,
calm the cratered earth
and morning fog will no longer hide
the enemy brother and the weapon he got.
As the battle came to an end
someone was there who thought of God.

And he knew the tears will not
end so soon, nor will pain go.
Battles end but struggle will go on,
till the hour comes, the hour comes…
